hailey1Jason walked into the hair salon Casey worked at looking for a haircut, but fell in love instead. “He came in every two weeks for a haircut until I was finally single and he asked me out,” Casey says.

Casey and Jason have a unique Maine wedding story: they were actually married two years ago but went their separate ways. “We made a lot of mistakes,” Casey says. “We were young and dumb. But God gave us a second chance.” While the couple was packing to move out of their first apartment and take advantage of that second chance together, Jason got down on one knee and proposed—in the exact same place he proposed two years earlier. “It was the perfect ending/beginning of a new chapter,” Casey says. Fittingly, the couple was wed, again, on their anniversary.

Since this was a second marriage (albeit to the same person) the couple kept it small and intimate. Casey’s dress and Jason’s suit were simple and elegant. Casey’s bouquet was made that very morning by a sweet lady down the road from their house. “She has a roadside stand and picked them fresh from her garden that morning,” Casey says.

The couple were married on Lamoine Beach close to the couple’s new home. In lieu of a big reception, they had a celebratory dinner at the Bar Harbor Inn. “It was simple and perfect,” Casey says. “The only thing I cared about was having photos for memories. Hailey Tash wasn’t only our photographer, but one of only five people present and my witness.”

Bride’s Eye View
We asked the bride a little more about her special day. Here’s what Casey had to say…

I wish…for a lifetime of happiness with my soul mate and best friend.

One of my favorite moments was…getting on our boat after the ceremony and literally “driving” off into the sunset. When we docked in Bar Harbor everyone was congratulating us and taking photos.

I’m glad that…we did things our way. We didn’t tell anyone, we kept it stress-free, and 100% about the real things that mattered this time—the marriage and not the wedding day.

I really liked…having a photographer who was willing to do anything and everything with us on our special day.

My advice to other brides is…to take a step back and realize why you are really doing this. In the end, it’s about you and the person you want to be with forever.
