Flower Power

October 27, 2011

Our production assistant, Ashley Ray, was recently married at StoneCrest in Waldo, Maine. Her flowers by Sweetest Thing Weddings were one of her favorite aspects of the entire day.

Amber and Kathryn of Sweetest Thing Weddings recently purchased a great big cooler for their downtown Bangor storefront so that they can do more floral design. Ashley found a photo of a bouquet she liked and brought it in to Amber to recreate. "What Amber did is way better than the photo," Ashley says.

Flowers are a big part of many wedding days, and there are some specific things you should ask before selecting your vendor:

  • Do they have examples of their work?
  • Will they be doing arrangements for another wedding on the same day as your wedding?
  • Will the florist you had your consultation with actually be doing the work?
  • What is the maximum distance they will travel to deliver your flowers?
  • How far in advance do you need to book them?
  • Do they charge for breakage?
Depending on your budget and your priorities, you can spend a little or a lot of the floral design for your wedding. But no matter how much you spend, you want the best, so do your homework and find the right florist for your needs.
