I love the way that words become art when you make them into a word cloud.
Ever since I found the website www.wordle.net I’ve been making word clouds out of everything—my favorite short stories, poems, songs—you name it. I thought it would be cool to see how my wedding vows and first dance song looked in word cloud format.
I like using Wordle because it’s easy to change the font and color scheme of your word cloud. For the vows that Shane and I wrote together, I used the green and navy color palate of our wedding. I love the way it turned out.

Our first dance was to the song You & Me by Dave Matthews. It suits us perfectly and I love the simple gray and black word cloud Shane created.

In case you aren’t familiar with word clouds, here’s how they work. You input some sort of text document and the generator creates its word cloud depending on the number of times a word is repeated throughout. The more times a word is used, the bigger the word is size wise in your word cloud. That’s why “promise” is one of the biggest words in our vows word cloud.
I’m not sure what I want to do with these yet—perhaps I’ll frame them and display them in our home office. That way I can be reminded every day of the beauty of our wedding day in words.
