How to Enter
Entering our contest is easy. All you have to do is enter a two-minute video via YouTube or Vimeo, on why you want to be married in Portland, Maine on our website, www.realmaineweddings.com. Your video will then be open for voting until March 12.
Three finalists will be chosen based on creativity, personality, and enthusiasm. Judging consists of 50% judges vote and 50% public voting. We’ll then open the public voting through our website on the three finalists and announce the winner at the Freeport Bridal Show on April 1, 2012.
But before you get out your camera, there are some rules you should know before entering our contest. If you are from New York, Florida, and Puerto Rico—you can’t enter…sorry. Each applicant must be at least 18 years old and only one video per couple is permitted. Each couple must also be a U.S. citizen, never been convicted of a crime, and be all around good people. You also can’t already be married.
The wedding, valued up to $100,000, will take place in Portland, Maine on Friday, November 2, 2012.
Couples must also participate in various public appearances and activities related to the process leading up to the wedding. They will be featured on the Real Maine Weddings blog and in the 2013 issue of Real Maine Weddings magazine. They must also be willing to undergo a background investigation as part of the process.
Winners are not permitted to substitute their prizes for cash—it’s just not fair. Real Maine Weddings is not responsible for the taxes or tips on any of the services, so keep that in mind when you enter.
